Orange Bowl 2022

Orange Bowl 2022 – Watch Live predictions Georgia Michigan meet in College Football Playoff semifinal Georgia and Michigan reached their College Football Playoff semifinal in the Orange Bowl going in different directions.

The 2021-2022 College Football Playoff is here. And in the first round, the venerable Georgia Bulldogs face off against a Michigan Wolverines team that’s been similarly dominant on defense. Who wins the Capital One Orange Bowl, and advances to the National Championship? It’s one of the last games of the college football season — here’s our Georgia vs. Michigan pick and score prediction.

Believe it or not, Michigan comes into the Orange Bowl as the higher-ranked team on the AP poll. It’s No. 2 Michigan vs. No. 3 Georgia, but Georgia is frequently advertised as the favorite in this matchup. The odds do well to communicate that.

The Bulldogs head into this game as 7.5-point favorites against the Wolverines. The projected total of 45.5 seems reasonable for two teams that have been defense-oriented this year. But the spread of more than a touchdown almost seems unfair for a Michigan team that may be more similar to Georgia than some realize.

Orange Bowl Live: The biggest day of the college football season is here, as the best four teams FBS take to the field to determine who will be the finalists and play for the national championship.

Alabama needed to win the SEC Championship over Georgia to ensure themselves a spot in the last four, which they did with a 41-24 win in Atlanta to cap off another conference crown. Led by Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young, the Crimson Tide are the favorites to win the title at DraftKings Sportsbook.

For the first time in Jim Harbaugh’s return to his alma mater, the Wolverines finally toppled Ohio State and reached the Big Ten Championship Game. With a 42-3 win over Iowa, their conference crown puts them in the CFP for the first time. With a stout defense and run game, look for a throwback style from UM if they’re to win the title.

While they looked like an unbeatable juggernaut during the regular season, and posted one of the best defenses in the history of college football, the Bulldogs fell to their old rival in Nick Saban and Alabama for the SEC Championship. If the school with the most recruiting stars of all can return to its roots defensively, they can still win their first national championship since 1980.

The first Group of Five team to ever reach the semifinals, the Bearcats will have the hearts of the casual fan if not the casual bettor. UC is also defensively-minded behind head coach Luke Fickell, and with sixth-year quarterback Desmond Ridder controlling the offense, they’ll need to make plenty of plays to advance past Alabama.

The second-ranked Wolverines (12-1) have already defied the odds by beating Ohio State and winning the Big Ten title this year. Another tough challenge awaits in Friday’s Orange Bowl against No. 3 Georgia (12-1).

A spot in the national championship is on the line when the two team’s meet for the first time since 1965.

Michigan is riding a five-game winning streak heading into its first College Football Playoff appearance, while Georgia is coming off a 41-24 loss to Alabama in the Southeastern Conference championship after winning each of its first 12 games by at least 17 points.
